Rhetorical Analysis: Comparison & Rhetorical QuestionsIn this article, Plunkett attempts to warn the next generation of republicans of the characteristics they should carry and portray as the President. Throughout his writing, Plunkett compares Trump's actions and decisions to many other well known faces of political backgrounds. He compares the way Trump likes to run things "his way" to McCain in 2008 and his refusal to be "framed by opposition" to Romney in 2012. Though it is worded to be seen from positive light, it shows how much some of the most controversial faces of politics have in common with our President. If the president maintains the characteristics of such people, it makes the reader fear of what Trump will do to our country. Plunkett then begins to ask rhetorical questions in order to have those of the future republican generation to first evaluate trump and themselves. It is meant for the reader to determine if he or she is any better than trump. If not, it is encouraged that they attempt to correct it before running for presidency.
